I’m a digital strategist and researcher, specializing in innovation and human-centered design. In 1995, I developed a CMS called Parla’, which was licensed to Reuters and other businesses. These early successes led to my role at Telocity, where as a founding employee, I had the opportunity to influence the company’s product by developing POCs, streamlining the OSS and customer signup, building media portals, and developing CS tools. Telocity, a pioneering broadband ADSL provider, was eventually acquired by DirecTV for $180 million—a key milestone in my product development journey.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working as a consultant across a range of industries. At Schwab, I led research for two innovation accelerator projects, identifying new growth opportunities. For Merck, I helped a senior research team adopt new methodologies for a chronic illness research project, which was part of a larger digital transformation initiative. I’ve also worked with institutions like the Wharton MBA program and the Project Management Institute (PMI), conducting user experience research, persona development, and stakeholder alignment. At Indeed, I focused on enterprise-level UX research for job budget allocation, and my work with Genentech involved a regulatory compliance app for the Sunshine Act. I also conducted foundational research and design work that helped shape Comcast’s Xfinity video selection and player, a product that went on to win an Engineering Emmy and the CTAM Silver Mark Award.
Beyond corporate projects, my commitment to social causes has always driven my work. I co-founded the Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit that has directed over $300M in donated professional services to the social sector. I continue to take on socially beneficial projects, including mentoring UX professionals through UXPA and serving on the Montgomery County Children and Youth Services Citizens Advisory Board. Additionally, I’ve been a Big Sister for BBBS and founded an online artists’ community—demonstrating my dedication to making an impact beyond the tech world.
Currently, I’m expanding my expertise in AI and machine learning through a certification program with MIT, with the goal of pivoting into AI-related roles. My aim is to combine my decades of experience with emerging technologies to drive innovation at tech startups that use AI/ML to create products that benefit society.
